He was borned in 1947. Gismonti has released a number of records on the label ECM and collaborated with jazz-musicians like Jan Garbarek and Charlie Haden.

In 1973 with the formation "Egberto Gismonti and Adademia of Danças", he released three discs for EMI, the last of which involve a shift towards greater instrumental work.


In 1972 he recorded Água e Vinho next to the poet Geraldo Carneiro.

Our arrangement of Agua e Vinho is based on his piano performance on the 1986 album 'Alma'.

We have tried our best to recreate Gismontis beautiful improvisation. In our arrangements you will not find any written finger, because we bealive that the fingering of a piece is something personal.


"Aqua y Vinho" has a slow rhythm, it is very important the underlying of sustained notes.I advise you to play them "apoyado" and the acompaniment "tirando",can tell that it is not easy at all.

This piece has my respect for it's compositional beauty and it's appealing melody, it is just the piece for my taste.
